Chivas showcased union and courage to get their first win of Guardianes 2021

08/02/2021 22:55 / Fernando Giaccardi

At first, both teams engaged in a midfield battle with a slow pace as if they were two fighters who were studying each other, but as time went by, it was El Chiverío who took over the ball and the game.

First, in minute 4 Jesús Molina rifled a violent long-distance shot that ended up in Blanco’s hands, then León answered back as Dávila fired a left-footed shot from outside the box, but it went a bit off-target in minute 19.

In the 22nd minute, El Rebaño stroke first as Jesús ‘Chapito’ Sánchez unleashed a violent banger past Blanco. During stoppage time, Chivas got the second goal thanks to a brilliant cross from Mayorga to Antuna who shot and got blocked by Blanco; however, JJ caught the loose ball and displayed top-class skills to seal the deal and net the ball.

As expected, León went all in from the very beginning of the second half; nonetheless, Guadalajara withstood along with a great Gudiño who saved in spectacular fashion a shot from Ramírez in minute 57.

A couple of minutes later, Macías and Angulo teamed up nicely and the latter shot but his shot went above the woodwork. In the 64th minute, León pulled one back in a very unfortunate play for Chivas as Antonio Briseño’s header got past Gudiño.

In minute 77 Gudiño, once again, showcased his great goalkeeping skills on a powerful shot from Meneses, finally, in the 83rd minute, Alejandro Mayorga put the game to rest with a solid left-footed shot that left Blanco without options.

Chivas will host Necaxa next Saturday 12th at Estadio Akron during matchweek 6 of Guard1anes 2021.
