A heavenly ‘Chicote’ Calderón gave Chivas a 2-1 win over América and a ticket to SEMIS

As expected, the game started at full throttle with both teams pushing hard in the hunt for the goal. In minute 1, Chivas showed their strong desire to win as 'Lalo' Torres unleashed a curling shot that barely missed the target, then in the 5th minute, Miguel Ponce with a gorgeous cross straight into the box, unfortunately, Molina’s header could not find the back of the net. América got their first chance in minute 20 when Córdova tried from long-distance, but Gudiño caught the ball. 23’ Sánchez took a right-footed shot but it went wide.

In minute 30 ‘Chicote’ once again, proved to be ‘El Rebaño’s hero as he unleashed the ‘Chicotazo 2.0’ past Ochoa to give Chivas the lead. By the dawn of the first half, ‘Lalo’ Torres with a violent shot inside the box wide though.

The second half started with a very patient and pragmatic ‘Rebaño’ aware they were in control of the game, in minute 46 ‘Chicote’ with a header from inside the box that did not go in. In the 51st minute, Gilberto Sepúlveda cleared the ball off the line twice in a very dramatic play. Uriel Antuna almost worked his magic as he ran down the line, dribbled & shot but was unable to hit the target in minute 59.

In the 71st minute, a connection between ‘El Brujo’ and ‘Chicote’ who unleashed a 3.0 rocket shot to put the game to rest. In minute 75 Henry Martin pulled one back for América with a sneaky shot into the far post. Chivas will play the Semifinals of Liga MX Guard1anes 2020 next week.
