Throughout the last decades, the Chiva Loca has been a typical image of Guadalajara’s home games, El Rebaño Sagrado’s popular mascot that cheered up the crowd before and during half time of home matches.
Die-heart rojiblanco fan since childhood, Juan José Jiménez started accompanying is beloved Chivas in 1983. His first appearance in a match was when he took a real goat to a match wearing the colors of El Rebaño, an event that generated the hubbub of the public at Estadio Jalisco and that led to the creation of the charismatic character of the Chiva Loca.
After years of love and passion for Guadalajara, whose fans gave back with affection and identification of the Red and White Nation as the Chivas mascot, and will always be part of the history of the club.
Therefore, the institution itself organized a deserved tribute during the Apertura 2022's MatchDay 6 against Pachuca, where he didn’t only receive an official recognition but also a support plan for the next stage of his life.
"Thank you very much to all the Chivas’ board of directors, from the bottom of my heart, thank you very much, God bless you all, ChivaHermanos, thank you for so many years," said Juan José, after he got a framed Rebaño jersey, with the legend Chiva Loca and the numbers 83-22 on the back, so that he could then organize a cheer for his beloved team.
This tribute to the Chiva Loca recognizes the great experience that fans have when assisting to Estadio Akron, since in the current days they follow the constant modernization of mascots and personalities.
This not only the farewell of the Chiva Loca as the team’s mascot, but also the farewell of Chiva Fighter, who have fulfilled their cycle as part of the stadium’s animation during matches and special events, with the vision of of constructing a new story for the new generations of Rojiblancos.
In Chivas we are aware of what Juan José and his Chiva Loca represent for the institution and of the years where he has unconditionally supported the team, which is why his name represents an important part of El Rebaño Sagrado’s history.
Besides the official recognition before the match, the club will economically support Juan José during the next 2 years and will also gift him 2 ChivaBonos for life showing the appreciation and recognition that he will always have on behalf of the club.
