The first duel of the Leagues Cup Showcase 2022 is just around the corner and the inaugural match will be between Guadalajara and Galaxy, this Wednesday at 7:30 (CDT) at SoFi Stadium, a rivalry that, although it may not seem like it, already has several episodes and some interesting facts. - It will be the first match in 15 years between Chivas and the Galaxy.
- The historical record between Chivas and the Galaxy shows 1 win for the Rebaño, in the 2007 SuperLiga, and 2 wins for the Californian team, one a friendly match in 1999 and the other in the CONCACAF Champions Cup in 1997.
- It will be the second time that Chivas will play a match with 'Chicharito' Hernández on the opposing team; the first time was against Manchester United in the inauguration of the Akron Stadium in 2010.
- Sacha Kljestan has a red-and-white past, the Galaxy midfielder played for the now-defunct Chivas USA from 2006 to 2010.
