Chivas signs alliance with the Football Science Institute

High performance sports requires many links that together help ensure that all players have the necessary tools to achieve their best version of themselves and to enable them to exploit 100% of their potential.

The Sports Science Department at Chivas has worked permanently to have the best possible resources, personnel and knowledge in order to accomplish its mission in said process of service to the player.

Seeking to contribute in this regard, Club Deportivo Guadalajara has signed an agreement with the Football Science Institute (FSI), which is an international training and research institute in soccer science.

This professional alliance will strengthen the academic-scientific structure of El Rebaño Sagrado's Sports Science area, allowing its professionals in each category to update their knowledge and improve their daily practice, thus promoting their continuous training with the best resources and establishing a network with researchers and scientists belonging to the FSI Faculty.

In addition, students certified by the Football Science Institute will be able to apply for professional internships at Chivas, with monitoring and mentoring from the team's staff, fostering of skills development, job placement as well as networking.

About the FSI

The Football Science Institute offers 7 master's degree programs in different areas that provide all the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to work in professional soccer.

The FSI Faculty is composed of more than 130 members of the highest academic and practical experience, who belong to more than 55 professional soccer clubs around the world.

The FSI LAB contributes to the creation and development of scientific knowledge by publishing many of its research activities in different high impact scientific journals.

Bernardo Requena
- Co-founder of the Football Science Institute and director of FSI Master Football Strength and Conditioning.
- Former fitness coach: Sevilla FC, Athletic Club de Bilbao, Selección Española U-21, Real Madrid.

Jesus Olmo
- Co-founder of the Football Science Institute and director of the FSI Master Football Doctor.
- Former head of medical services: Spanish Rugby Team, Real Madrid.

Jack Nayler
- Director of FSI Master Football Nutritionist.
- Head of Sports Science at Celtic FC.
- Sports scientist/conditioning coach for Real Madrid first team.
-Sports Scientist/Assistant Performance Director at Paris Saint Germain.
- Sports Scientist at Chelsea.

David Joyce
- Director of FSI Master Football Injury Reconditioning Trainer.
- Background: Blackburn Rovers, Galatasaray, Hull FC, Great Britain Team at the 2008 Olympic Games, China Team at the 2012 Olympic Games.
- Head of Athletic Performance at Sydney Giants.
