One was enough to beat Puebla... 7 undefeated games and counting for La Cadeneta!

10/09/2022 23:20 / Javier Quezada

In a tight and very competitive match in which both teams competed for the control of the ball, El Guadalajara was more insistent on the attack and ended up beating Puebla 1-0 at the Estadio Akron, in MatchDay 14 of the Apertura 2022, with which El Rebaño Sagrado added its sixth win in the last 7 matches and will remain in seventh position with 22 points, just one point behind Toluca, but with pending game, the one scheduled for next Tuesday against Tigres.

The winning goal:
- At 81', Chivas found the fair reward for their insistence, after Alexis Vega took the ball in three quarters of the field and upon reaching the area, he got the ball away from Reyes with a hip movement, to then define coolly glued to the base of the right post.

The first danger:
- At 2' came the first warning, after 'Cone' Brizuela projected 'Chapo' Sánchez down the right flank, who, upon reaching the back line, put in a cross to the far post, but no one closed the trap.

- At minute 10, Jordi Cortizo headed a cross from the right, but it went wide.

- At 24', 'Chicote' Calderón shook off the mark at the front and then left the ball for 'Chelo' Zaldívar, who tried his luck with a first-time shot, but the goalkeeper flew to save the shot that was trying to go in at the left post.

- At 30', 'Wacho' Jiménez leaned to the left to save a point-blank header by Lucas Maia.

- At 34', 'Chicote' put in a filtered ball that left Alexis alone in front of the goalkeeper, who cut him off with a hook and then shot at goal, but the backline burst on the goal line.

- At 52', Chivas came up just short of scoring a great goal, when 'Chelo' filtered for 'Cone', who inside the box gave the ball to 'Chocote', who crossed to the far post, where Alexis headed back to the box and from there, 'Chelo' shot with a bicycle kick, but it went over the crossbar.

- At 56', 'Wacho' saved a low cross shot by Maximiliano Araujo without much trouble.

- At 67', 'Chiquete' Orozco appeared in the area to head in a free kick taken by Alexis, but his shot went just wide.

Controversy:
At the end of the first half, the center-back had sent off Federico Mancuello for a hard tackle on 'Cone' Brizuela, but on reviewing it in the VAR he regretted it and left it on yellow.
