Chivas' first week of activity under Veljko Paunovic has been full of emotions and novelties, as the Serbian tactician immediately set in motion his intense way of training, which was very well received by the players of the Rebaño Sagrado.
It is worth remembering that Guadalajara began its preseason on Monday and has been increasing the workload as the days have gone by. One of the most noteworthy features of this week was that, since Day 1, all of the Rebaño's sessions have been focused on the real match reality.
Do you want to know exactly what the Red-and-White squad has been working on? Here's a day-by-day breakdown.
- Monday and Tuesday: The players reported at Verde Valle in the morning, to later divide into two groups and undergo medical and physical examinations.
- Wednesday: Guadalajara had a double training session; they worked on movements without the ball, such as pressing after losses or retreats.
- Thursday: Paunovic worked on ball control, something that has been difficult for the Rebaño in recent tournaments. He also took the opportunity to do some set-piece exercises.
- Friday: As on Wednesday, it was also a double session day and the players made the most of the work, as Guadalajara's Technical Staff continued with the intention of imbuing the players with their idea of the game and proposed some definition exercises with some variations.
