The red-and-white rout in the Clasico de Mexico that sent Guadalajara into a frenzy.

There is no doubt that El Clasico de México has seen countless episodes that have intensified the rivalry between Chivas and Aguilas. One of them took place on Day 3 of Winter 96, where the red-and-white team thrashed their rivals 5-0 at Estadio Jalisco.

The Coloso de la Calzada Independencia was packed to the rafters to support Ricardo Ferretti's 'Super Chivas', who arrived as overwhelming favorites against Ricardo La Volpe's América, who had taken the reins of the team 3 dates earlier.

From the start of the match, El Rebaño Sagrado imposed conditions on the field and with a Ramón Ramírez early goal they reflected this on the scoreboard, which led to Luis García losing his head a few minutes later and being sent off for a vicious tackle on Joel Sánchez.

As the minutes went by, the team from the capital fell apart and lost their way, while Chivas took advantage of the confusion and made the predictions valid with goals from Sergio Pacheco, 'Tilón' Chávez and a brace from 'Gabi' García, which unleashed total madness in the Perla de Occidente that afternoon.
