Chivas left empty-handed against Pachuca

22/03/2023 23:03 / Omar González

San Jose, California - Guadalajara showed a good side in their presentation in the Rebaño 2023 Tour, but despite their good performance throughout the match, they ended up losing to the Pachuca Tuzos at PayPal Park. Veljko Paunovic's team played with their style of play and even took the lead with a set piece that was finished by Antonio Briseño, but the lack of attention against the team from the Bella Airosa cost them the defeat. Chivas will continue their California tour against Toluca, in a match scheduled for next Saturday at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson.

Goals:

8' Antonino Briseño sent the ball into the net when he connected with a header after Pavel Pérez took a corner kick from the right sector.

15' Cristian Arango scored on a penalty kick after goalkeeper Raúl Rangel fouled Pedro Pedraza.

85' Francisco Figueroa made a cutback in the box and shot left-footed past Raúl Rangel's body.

The danger:

17' Cristian Arango pulled the trigger inside the area, but his shot went just wide of the red-and-white goal.

23' In a display of his masterful touch and field vision, Alexis Vega put in a pass to leave "Lalo" Torres in front of the goal, but when he was about to shoot, the goalkeeper took the ball away from him.

30' Raúl Rangel saved a shot from the front of the box by "Chofis" López.

32' In another ball into the box by Alexis Vega, the Rebaño came close to a second goal, but Daniel Ríos' shot hit the post.

44' In a lightning transition, Zahid Muñoz sent Alexis Vega to the left, the red and white 10 crossed to Torres, who controlled the ball and shot right-footed, but the ball went over the goal.

46' Daniel Ríos picked up the ball in the center of the field, adjusted his body to shoot right-footed, but his shot went wide of the goalkeeper's goal.

56' With a lot of pressure, Alejandro Mayorga reached the end line to send a diagonal into the box, where Pavel Pérez connected with a half-volley, but hit the ball too low and it went into the stands.

73' Ronaldo Cisneros put the ball into the box looking to put it into a corner, but it went just wide of the goal.

84' Pachuca gave an important warning by shaking the goal with a mid-range shot from the center of the pitch.
