Pavel Pérez's tremendous goal gives Chivas the win over Necaxa!

08/04/2023 20:17 / Javier Quezada

A great goal by Pavel Pérez and a pair of superb saves by 'Wacho' Jiménez in stoppage time allowed Guadalajara to beat Necaxa 1-0 this Saturday at the Estadio Akron, in Matchday 14 of Clausura 2023, which keeps El Rebaño strong in the fight to clinch a straight spot to the playoffs, having reached 25 points and placing them in fourth place for the time being.

The play that defined the match:
- El Rebaño found the fair reward for their insistence at 71', when Alan Mozo cut back towards the center and then, noticing Pável Pérez's movement inside the box, set him up with a pass between the lines, then Pável controlled the ball, got away from the goalkeeper and simply pushed it into the net. GREAT GOAL!

The danger ones:
- 3' Damián Batallini took advantage of a delayed pass from the red-and-white defense that fell short to head towards goal, but 'Wacho' blocked his shot.
- 6' Alexis Vega was supported by Fernando Beltrán, who noticed Cristian Calderón's movement into space and tried to set him up inside the area, but 'Chicote' couldn't control the shot inside the box.
- 9' Batallini came close to opening the scoring, but the 'Chicote' dived to miraculously deflect the ball.
- 18' 'Charal' Cisneros projected Mozo, who cut back to his marker and then left the ball for 'Piojo' Alvarado, who hit a first-time shot from the front zone, but the ball went just over the top.
- 19' 'Charal' put in a powerful header that Vega came close to sending into the net, but Alexis Peña cut off the action with a shot.
- 23' Alexis put in a cross to the heart of the area, which 'Pocho' Guzmán headed, but into the goalkeeper's hands.
- 42' Vega put a pass between the lines to give the advantage to 'Chicote', who rushed his shot and crossed it too far.
- 62' 'Lalo' Torres tried his luck from long distance, but it went over the goal.
- 66' Alexis shook off the mark and then pulled the trigger from the left corner of the big area, but Hugo Hernández stretched as far as he could to claw the shot away.
- El 'Wacho' blocked a violent attempt by Domínguez.
- In stoppage time, 'Wacho' flew to save with his fingernails a power shot by Heriberto Jurado that threatened to enter the goal in the last minute of the game.
