Guadalajara achieved an important victory over Necaxa, although there were some very good moments and also others where the team suffered, Veljko Paunovic is convinced that Chivas is showing more and more maturity and is better prepared to compete at the highest level.
In addition, the red & white coach was self-critical and shared a very interesting point, for which he considered that his team's intensity was diminished.
Veljko Paunovic's words after the victory against Necaxa:
"I am happy for the victory, this is the month of confirmation and we took a very big step towards our goal of getting a straight spot to the playoffs".
"I'm not satisfied with the intensity we had and that's on me. We trained yesterday at 5 PM, my idea was to adapt them to the heat and that hurt the flow of today's match".
"The boys played a great match, I'm happy with them and grateful with their effort."
"We must manage better the last minutes of the matches".
"We are looking for solutions, we are creative and we opted to start with Alvarado as a false 9".
"During the match we decided that Guzmán should be the attacking man because of his qualities and he came close to scoring after a cross from Mozo".
"With 'Piojo's' drops it allowed us to attack long on Van Rankin's back".
"In the last 5 minutes we stopped being pro-active and they came close to scoring against us".
"We want to break all the molds, this team has the mentality to keep growing and be a winning group".
"We have been here 4-5 months and the team has had a great evolution, but we are aware that we have not achieved anything and we will keep working".
"Mozo has had to adapt to the style of play we are aiming for and he has done very well. He has had a great performance and is in the process of reaching consistency".
