Chivas Subs beat Mazatlan; the Rebaño U20s finish as leaders.

Guadalajara's youth teams defeated their counterparts from Mazatlán on the 17th day of the Clausura 2023. The Under-20s won 5-1 and thus moved up to the overall lead, while the Under-18s did their job by winning 3-0 and will now have to wait for Querétaro's result to know their fate in the tournament.

Under 20
With a great display of good soccer and forceful play, especially in the second half, Guadalajara defeated Mazatlán 5-1 and thus crowned its magnificent tournament by finishing as overall leader with 35 points and with this it has the advantage of closing the Liguilla at home. El Chiverío will wait until the end of the day to find out their opponent in the Quarterfinals.

Goals:
- Luis Puente made his presence felt on the scoreboard at 1', after Jonathan Parra reached the end line on the right, sent a diagonal and the red-and-white striker defined with his heel and scored a GOLAZO to put the Rebaño ahead.

- Jiménez increased the lead at 49' with a great collective play, Puente made a screen that Corona controlled in the half-moon and touched to the arrival of Leo, who shot across and sent the ball into the back of the net.

- Once again, Parra's overlapping run down the right opened the door for the goal, as the attacker sent in a low cross that Gael García closed the pincer and, at 51', pushed the ball into the back of the net for the 3-0 scoreline.

- The Cañoneros closed the gap at 54' from the penalty spot, with a penalty kick that Ramiro Árciga took to the left of Montiel.

- At 64', Gael took advantage of a poor control by the Mazatlán defense to steal the ball, then approached the area, faced the visiting goalkeeper and scored to make it 4-1.

- Armando González completed the 'manita' at 85'; inside the box, Leo Sánchez overflowed to the left and put in a low cross for the red and white striker to sweep in and score the definitive 5-1.

The Rebaño needed the win plus the extra point from the penalty shootout series to maintain their aspirations of qualifying and they did so, but now they must wait for the result of Querétaro, who face Pachuca this Sunday, to know if they will get their ticket to the Liguilla. For the moment they reached 33 points to the Gallos' 31 and moved into eighth place.

The goals:
- Enrique Ledesma opened the scoring via penalty kick at 38', as he shot powerfully to the left of goalkeeper García.

- The Rebaño widened the gap in the scoreboard at 46', when Gibrán Ortiz broke down the left, sent a diagonal that Ariel shot and the ball hit the post, but Eduardo Ochoa was alert to the rebound and punched the ball into the back of the visitors' goal.

- Chivas got the third goal at 56' with an own goal, after Mario Anaya headed the ball back to Abraham Rodríguez, but the ball was deflected by Abraham Rodríguez.
