Guadalajara made their home advantage count against the tournament leaders and beat Tigres 1-0 on Thursday at Verde Valle, in the first leg of the CL23 Quarter-Finals, meaning that the red-and-white team now needs a win or a draw in the second leg, to be played on Sunday at 10 a.m. in Zuazua, to maintain their aggregate advantage and advance to the semifinals.
The goal that made the difference:
- 10' goalkeeper González failed to clear with his fists after a cross from the right, the ball slipped and Ariel Castro appeared to push the ball into the back of the net.
The dangerous ones:
- 6' Talento's players appeared, Yael Padilla served a first-time pass to Ariel Castro, who took off his marker with an oriented reception and inside the area shot a shot that went just wide of the feline goal.
- 20' Ariel set up Hugo Camberos, who took a first-time shot across the face of goal and the goalkeeper kept the ball out twice.
- 42' Castro took a free kick that went over the wall and the ball went over the crossbar.
- 48' Isaias Galván cut inside the six-yard box and took a left-footed shot that Robinho made a great save.
- 70' Gibran won the ball in three-quarters of the field, entered the box and shot, but the goalkeeper managed to deflect it with his foot.
- 85' Ortíz received a pass from Castro in the heart of the area, he threatened his marker and shot with his left foot, but González managed to deflect the ball away.
