With the participation of three players from the Red-and-White youth academy, the Mexican National Under-23 Team defeated the Dominican Republic 2-0 with goals from Jesús Gómez and Fidel Ambriz, in its debut at the Central American and Caribbean Games 2023.
The match was played in Santa Tecla, El Salvador, and El Tri earned its first three points and took the lead in Group A.
Goalkeeper Eduardo García and Zahid Muñoz started the match. The former completed the full 90', while the latter played 76'. In addition, Gael García came on at 67' and all three had an outstanding participation.
Miguel Gómez was the only Cantera Rojiblanca player who did not see action in this match.
The next match for the Mexican U-23 National Team will be against the host team on Sunday, July 2, at 8 p.m., at the Estadio Nacional Las Delicias, in Santa Tecla, El Salvador.
