Chivas U23s showed no mercy against the Rayos

Guadalajara's youth teams had a morning of contrasts at Verde Valle. The U-23s made their home advantage count and gave an outstanding footballing performance to beat Necaxa 3-0, taking the overall lead with 7 points, while the U-18s fell victim to their own mistakes and ended up losing 1-2 to the Rayos, but adding the extra point by winning the penalty shootout.

Chivas U23 goals
- Armando González scored a cracking goal at 35', after Ledesma extended the ball with his head and the 'Hormiga' took the ball with his back towards the goal on the edge of the area and crossed his shot with a half-turn to open the scoreboard.

- Gibrán Ortíz extended the lead in a personal move that started on the end line, then entered the box and coolly slotted the ball between the goalkeeper's legs.

- Marioni Ham put the final touches on the scoreboard with a stunning goal in stoppage time, firing a long-range shot into the top corner of the net.

Chivas U18 vs Necaxa U18 goals
- Arath Moreno took advantage of a mistake by the red and white defense at minute 6 to steal the ball and score without much trouble to put the visitors ahead.

- At 34', the referee awarded a penalty kick after a foul by goalkeeper Robinho Romero, which Héctor Guerrero capitalized on with a shot to the left to give the Rayos a 2-0 lead.

- Chivas reduced the deficit on the scoreboard with a penalty kick that Diego Ochoa took confidently.
