Thirteen years have passed since Jesús Sánchez's debut in the First Division with Chivas, which took place with a 1-0 win against the former San Luis franchise on Matchday 3 of the 2010 Apertura, and to mark the occasion, we now present a list of the players who have worn the Guadalajara jersey for the most consecutive years in their careers.
Juan Jasso is the player who has been with the institution for the longest period of time, as he was with the club for 20 years and 7 months. El 'Bigotón' made his debut in 1946 in a 2-0 victory over San Sebastián and retired in 1966 in the match that El Rebaño Sagrado beat Ciudad Madero 3-0.
Second place belongs to Sabás Ponce with a period of 15 years and 1 month; from his debut on October 14, 1956, when Chiverío lost 2-0 to Necaxa, to his last match played, a 2-2 draw with Pachuca on December 4, 1971.
Isidoro Díaz is in third place on this list thanks to his 14 years and 4 months with the red and white jersey; El 'Chololo' played from August 21, 1955, when Guadalajara lost 3-0 to Zacatepec, to January 4, 1968, when the team from Guadalajara lost 4-0 to Atlante.
Goalkeeper Gilberto 'Coco' Rodríguez is the fourth member of the select club with his 13 years and 8 months as a red and white player, since he made his debut on August 13, 1964, in the victory against Pumas by the minimum difference, and his last match was on May 7, 1978, when Chivas lost to Tampico by a score of 2-1.
Our legend Salvador 'Chava' Reyes reached fifth place with 13 years and 6 months of his career with El Rebaño Sagrado. He made his debut on August 9, 1953, when Chiverío beat León 3-2, and hung up his boots (with a goal) on February 18, 1967 in a Clásico Tapatío that ended in a 2-2 draw.
