August 31 is a very significant date for Gilberto Sepúlveda, since on a day like today, but 4 years ago, he made his debut in the First Division wearing the Guadalajara jersey. On the occasion of this event, we shall recall the details of that night and give a brief review of his career.
The native of Guasave, Sinaloa, arrived at the #CanteraRoijblanca when he was just 14 years old after being recruited in a Chivas Cup. Since then he has shown exemplary character and total commitment to the club, which has helped him achieve his goal of playing in the maximum circuit with Guadalajara.
The big night
Minutes before the start of the match between Chivas and Cruz Azul at the Azteca Stadium, the central defender heard the words that every young player dreams of: you are going to play. After Oswaldo Alanís was injured in the warm-up, 'Tiba' received the word from Tomas Boy to begin as a starter in that match, in which he showed aggressiveness and good conditions in defense.
The Sinaloan native shared the center back position with Antonio Briseño and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Since then, he has accumulated a lot of minutes and has even been called up to the Mexican National Team.

- One of 'Tiba's' most special moments with the Rebaño jersey happened a few months ago, during the second leg of the AP23 Quarterfinals. Chivas needed to score a goal to win the Clásico Tapatío and advance to the next phase, and at 60' Sepúlveda appeared from a corner kick and with a header that he sent into the net to put Guadalajara in the Semifinals.
