The Red-and-White fans and the general public have a new comfortable and safe alternative that will take them from the MiMacro Chivas Station to the Akron Stadium in just a few minutes.
The Andador Chivas, a walkway that allows you to go directly from the Periférico to the El Bajío area, was formally inaugurated this Friday by Amaury Vergara, president of Club Guadalajara, Juan José Frangie, municipal president of Zapopan, and Santiago Martínez de la Torre, chairman of the board of directors of Akron.
At the event, a commemorative plaque was unveiled in honor of Jorge Vergara (R.I.P) and Salvador Martínez Garza (R.I.P), who contributed greatly to the greatness of our institution. Martínez Garza's Super Chivas brought the 10th star in the summer of 1997, while in the Vergara era, the AP06 and CL17 titles were added.
AMAURY VERGARA
“It is very important that the Chiva Nation and the people of Zapopan get to know this walkway, which is safe, will be well cared for and will save them a lot of travel time. This undoubtedly adds to the experience of coming to our stadium, where we always seek to provide the best experience, from the moment the fans arrive until they leave.
"Something that our parents (Jorge Vergara and Salvador Martínez Garza) shared was their desire to take Chivas to the next level, and this plaque is a small tribute to those who deserve this honor.”
JUAN JOSÉ FRANGIE
"Being here brings me many beautiful memories, of Don Salvador who always helped me and advised me, and what can I say about Jorge who was a dear friend, both people, to say that this is a small tribute for everything they did. They were hard-working people who changed Mexican soccer.
SANTIAGO MARTÍNEZ DE LA TORRE
"I am a Chiva at heart and for me it is a source of pride that our brand is in this incredible stadium and I am sure that my father, who is with yours in heaven, must be happy to see how we recognize their effort".
