Chivas has nightmarish night against Mazatlan

26/09/2023 23:00 / Javier Quezada

Guadalajara had a night to forget this Tuesday at the Akron Stadium. With very little, Mazatlán FC took the result away from El Rebaño, who ended up falling prey to their desperation as they were unable to capitalize on the scoring options they generated and ended up losing 1-3 in their match on the 11th matchday of the Apertura 2023.

Chivas' next match will be this Sunday at 5:20 p.m. against Toluca at the Nemesio Diez stadium in the capital of the State of Mexico.

Goals:
- The visitors found the net at 36', when Nicolas Benedetti found the ball in the front zone and shot across goal to beat the onrushing 'Wacho' Jiménez.
- The Mazatlecos extended their lead at 45' through Edgar Bárcenas, who received a filtered pass that left him alone in front of 'Wacho', although at the moment of the kick-off, Bárcenas himself hit 'Chicote' in the back, which should have been flagged as an infraction.
- The Cañoneros scored the third goal at 90'+1', when 'Wacho' saved a shot from Moreno, but the ball was left alive and Bello appeared to simply push it into the net.
- Piojo' Alvarado made the defeat more honorable in the last action of the match, when he drove for several meters and when he reached the halfway line, he shot a left-footed rocket that went in at the base of the left post.
