This Saturday morning was very exciting at Verde Valle, as Chivas U23 put their heart and good soccer into the game to come from behind twice and beat Cruz Azul 3-2, in the penultimate match of the Apertura 2023. With this result, El Rebaño retained the overall runner-up position with 29 points.
How the goals were scored:
- The visitors opened the scoring at 9' through Víctor Taboada, who stole the ball at the red-and-white start and then beat the goalkeeper one-on-one with a right-footed cross.
- Luis Puente equalized the score at 19', when he received a gift from the goalkeeper in front of the net and from there, scored with a low shot that went in at the right post.
- La Máquina regained the lead in the next action, after Amaury Morales received a filtered pass, then withstood Delgadillo's hard mark and, upon reaching the box, he punched the ball to anticipate the goalkeeper's save.
- Chivas tied the score again at 71' with a bit of luck, as Enrique Ledesma controlled the ball inside the box, shook off the marking of a couple of defenders and then put in a cross that defender Luis Iturbide accidentally pushed into his goal.
- El Rebaño consummated the turnaround with a deadly counterattack on the last play of the match, after Ledesma projected Gibran Ortiz down the flank and the latter put in a powerful shot that reached the far post, where 'Chevy' Martínez appeared to send the ball into the cage.
