Club Deportivo Guadalajara joins the grief of Francisco Jara's family for his death this Friday, February 2, at the age of 82. His legend will live forever because he was a player who gave everything for our institution and who was key to the consecration of the Campeonísimo.
A native of Colonia del Fresno in the Perla Tapatía, 'Paco' Jara distinguished himself as one of the most outstanding right wingers in our football. He made his debut in 1960 with a 2-1 win against El Oro and managed to win 5 League titles, 3 Cup titles, 4 Champion of Champions and 1 CONCACAF Champions Cup.
To date, Jara remains in the top 5 of the top scorers in the Clasico de Mexico, occupying fourth place on the list with 7 goals against the Águilas.
Each and every one at Chivas mourns the loss of one of the men who helped build the greatness of our beloved club.
Rest in peace, Francisco 'Paco' Jara.
