Chivas wins after a great night beating Atletico San Luis

04/02/2024 20:48 / Javier Quezada

San Luis Potosí - Guadalajara picked up its second win in the Clausura 2024, beating Atlético San Luis 2-0 on Matchday 5 of the Clausura 2024. This result is the result of the extraordinary work carried out by the Rebaño Sagrado throughout the 90', in which they were pragmatic and generated enough chances to cause damage to the Potosinos.

The match was by no means simple, as Atlético San Luis sought to handle the ball well and be the protagonist. However, Chivas controlled the game with good passing fluency and pressure on the home team.

The goals:

- At 18', Rodrigo Dourado brought down 'Nene' Beltrán inside the area and the referee unhesitatingly awarded the penalty, which 'Pocho' Guzmán made valid with a shot to the right that deceived the goalkeeper.
- At 69', the second penalty kick was awarded to the Rebaño, after the referee went to the VAR to check a Jürgen Jürgen trample on Mozo on the edge of the area and 'Pocho' capitalized on it from the 11-yard line with a powerful shot that beat the goalkeeper.

The Ones that Got Away:
- At 7', 'Pollo' Briseño put in a long shot from his own half that Ricardo Marín extended with his head to give 'Piojo' the advantage in front of goal, but threw his shot into the right corner.
- At the 8th minute, 'Tala' Rangel leaned to the right with feline reflexes to save a point-blank shot by Chávez.
- At 30', Mateo Chávez reached the last third of the field to put in a cross to the far post that Marín headed into the goalkeeper's hands.
- At 65', 'Nene' took a first-time shot off a defensive rebound in the front zone, but the ball went over the goal.
- At 81', the Potosí goalkeeper stubbornly withstood a shot from 'Nene' Beltrán, who left 2 rivals in his path.
- At 92', Yael Padilla came within a whisker of scoring a great goal, as he escaped from his marker and beat the goalkeeper, but when he tried to shoot, the Potosí defense crossed to prevent it.
