After the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup 2024 Round of 16, Fernando Gago spoke candidly to analyze Rebaño's performance on the field at the Azteca Stadium. Even though the team was unable to complete the comeback to advance to the next round of the competition, the Red and White coach praised the good performance shown, especially in the first half, and sent a message about what lies ahead for Guadalajara in the immediate future.

"I liked the match, the sensations were very good in the sense of where we had to play it. We were very good in all the situations in the first half; a mistake complicated the result, but the team kept insisting, kept searching and that leaves me with peace of mind".
"It is constant to change the situation of the tournament, of the match; sometimes you win the match and you have to work with the same mentality. Now we have to rest, see who is available to play, and continue with the work we intend to do on the physical, mental, and footballing side."
"I liked the way we planned it, in that we knew we could solve situations and from that, we tried to play our game. We had to look for a goal and that's how it was, unfortunately, it wasn't enough".
"It's work, trying to reach the players in the best way. Today the merit goes to the players, today we worked on an idea, we knew we could hurt and they executed it perfectly".
"We have to show in the next matches. Each one of us has to work on them and continue to demonstrate and that is the mentality we have in every match and every training session."
