Good news, ChivaHermanos! This Saturday could not have had a better start for Guadalajara, as both the Under 23 and 18 teams showed extraordinary footballing form to defeat their similar teams from América with authority, in the duels corresponding to Day 12 of the Clausura 2024.
The Under-23s were much better than their opponents and this was reflected in their 3-1 victory, thanks to an outstanding performance by Ariel Castro, who scored a brace and added an assist. For their part, the U-18 team earned all four points by beating the Águilas 2-0 in regular time and then winning the penalty shootout.
How did Chivas U23 do?
The Rebaño won the Clásico de Mexico after defeating the Águilas 3-1, in a match that was Red and White from start to finish.
After this important victory, Guadalajara continues its tremendous positive streak and is now in sixth place with 18 points.
The goals
1-0: Chivas took the lead at 10' through Armando González, who appeared at the far post and finished off a cross from Ariel Castro.
2-0: 6 minutes later, Ariel Castro was once again a factor as he scored a stunning goal from the edge of the box to extend the Red and White's lead.
3-0: Castro's display didn't stop there, as he scored again at 44' and settled the match before the break. On this occasion, the Rebaño midfielder fired a left-footed shot from the halfway line and the visiting goalkeeper was unable to control it.
3-1: América scored the equalizer at 48' from the penalty spot.

Sergio Pinto's team remains at the top of the overall standings after a 2-0 win over América. Chivas also won the penalty shootout to reach 41 points.

1-0: Guadalajara started the match with a strong start, as Diego Latorre appeared at 5' and with an accurate header gave Los Rojiblancos the lead.
2-0: The goal that sealed the match also came from Latorre, who, at minute 31, broke down the left, entered the area, and threatened on a couple of occasions to finish the game off.
