06/04/2024 13:30 / Roberto García

The Chivas Subs made their home advantage count, as this Saturday morning both the 23 and 18 teams scored points against their similar teams from Puebla at Verde Valle, in matchday 14 of the Clausura 2024. Here are all the details of the Cantera Rojiblanca's performances.

How did the U18 team do?

'Perfect' is the right word to define Sergio Pinto's team when it comes to playing at home, as they added their seventh win in 7 opportunities at Verde Valle after defeating Puebla 2-0. With the 3 points obtained plus the extra for having won in the penalty shootout, the youngsters from Guadalajara reached 45 points in the standings and put a considerable distance between themselves and the second place team.

Guadalajara came up against a solid Puebla defense, which resisted the entire first half with the 0 in their goal, but in the second half the changes made by the Red and White coach tipped the scales towards the Red and White cause, which within a matter of 2 minutes resolved the final result, courtesy of Eduardo Ochoa.

How did the Under-23s fare?

Guadalajara's youth team continues its rebound in the standings and extended its undefeated streak to 6 with a 2-2 draw against Puebla in a high-intensity match. With this point, 'Pepe' Meléndez's team moved up to ninth in the overall standings with 19 points.

Very soon after the start of action came the goal for the Red and Whites on account of Ariel Castro. Although the 'enfranjados' managed to turn the score around in the following minutes, 'Hormiga' González scored before halftime and leveled the score again.

In the second half, the Rebaño could have won the game; however, between the goalkeeper's performance and the work of the Puebla defense, it was not possible to score.
