How did the Chivas Subs do in the Clasico Tapatio?

This Saturday was a busy one for the Cantera Rojiblanca, who faced matches in 3 different categories, as the U-23 and U-18 teams faced the Clásico Tapatío, while the U-14s played their first Liguilla match. Below, we tell you what was the balance for Chivas' youth teams.

How did the U18s do?

Guadalajara's youngsters ratified their leadership of the category after a 2-2 draw against the Nextipac team. The team coached by Sergio Pinto reached 48 points in the tournament and are waiting for the end of the day to know their opponent in the Quarterfinals, which will be defined between Mazatlán FC and Necaxa.

The Red and White team played a tight match in the match played on synthetic turf, as they generated chances that they did not manage to score. Before halftime, the rival took the lead with a goal by Carlo Henríquez.

Our canteranos sought to equalize the score from the first actions of the second half but were met with another goal from the locals at 47', with a shot by Oscar Reyes. How did the U-23 team fare?

The Red-and-Whites were unable to secure their place in the Liguilla, losing 2-0 to the city's fierce rivals. José Meléndez's team fell just short of qualification, as they finished the CL24 in ninth place with 22 points.

The match was a tough one for the Rebaño's youngsters, as at 23', a penalty kick was awarded to the locals, which Axel Leyva saved with great skill on his left side. The Zorros took the lead at 38' with a goal by Luis Egurrola and two minutes later the Rebaño were reduced to one man after Ismael Angulo was sent off.

During the second half, the hosts put the game to bed through Luis Blanco at 59'.

How did the U14 team do?
Our young Red-and-Whites are in the Semifinals, ChivaHermanos! The youthful Rebaño defeated Puebla 3-0 this morning at Verde Valle and now awaits its Semifinal opponent, which will be the winner of the series between América and León.

Marco Palacios' team took the lead in the first half with goals from Jorge Lewis at 4' and Hendrick Castañeda at 16'. In the second half, Yahel Castañeda's goal sealed the Rebaño's ticket to the final.
