Fernando Gago's sincere post-Toluca analysis

08/05/2024 23:09 / Enrique Noriega

Chivas experienced a tough match from the scoreboard that was reflected on the field, but always looking for the initiative to find the goal in front of their people. This was Fernando Gago's analysis at the press conference, where he acknowledged that there were periods in which it was not easy for Guadalajara, but in which he found a solution to take the advantage to the second leg.

These were the words of Fernando Gago at the press conference

"The match was divided into two halves, in the first half we were thick in our movements. We thought about where to hurt and rethought everything to adjust in the second half.

"We suffered a couple of transitions because of the same ambition we showed."

"Pocho is in a great level of training. I need all the players, it doesn't matter if they are in the starting lineup or not".

"Toluca is very well worked, we had to try to cut circuits from where they are strong".

"We will go looking for the match, nobody thinks about defending a result. There will be game situations that will allow us to do damage, so we'll think about what the opponent is going to look to do in the Vuelta."

"It was a match for Javier Hernandez because of his experience and playing at home, we knew that the game was going to change in the second half and that's why Marin comes in."

"We wanted the win and we will look to take Saturday's game as it suits us. It will be difficult and we will have to fight our hardest to advance to the Semifinals."

"The players are very committed to the game and the institution, we have to try to maintain that."

"We need to improve our offensive transitions and we were quick to decide the pass. We had several options in the first half and we made a bad decision".
