As has happened in almost every match of the tournament, Yael Padilla, Diego Ochoa and Francisco Méndez started the match as starters. In fact, Ochoa and Méndez played all 90 minutes, thanks to the tremendous solidity they have brought to the Tri U-20 central backline.
Padilla played 87 minutes, before giving his place to Brandon Téllez, who came on to close the game and help Mexico maintain good defensive stability to seal the result that gave them a pass to the U-20 World Cup 2025, to be played in Chile.
El Tri will face Cuba in the semifinals of the category's Pre-World Cup.
