After several weeks of absence, Guadalajara will return this Saturday to the Akron Stadium, where they will meet again with their fans and face the Bravos de Juárez in the match corresponding to Day 6 of the Apertura 2024.
Not long ago, these two teams met at the Fortaleza Rojiblanca, as the Borderers visited the Rebaño on Matchday 6 of the Clausura 2024. That match was played on February 10, 2024 and we will now look back at what happened in that 2-1 victory for the Rojiblanca.
Chivas arrived at the match against Bravos after wins against Toluca and Atlético San Luis, while the visitors had gone 9 matches without a win. As was to be expected, the game's proceedings completely favored Guadalajara, who took control of the ball and generated several dangerous chances on Sebastián Jurado's goal.
After insisting in several ways, the Rebaño took the lead through Antonio Briseño, who appeared at the near post and headed the ball into the net. Fernando Gago's men extended their lead in the final stretch of the match, as at 76', Víctor Guzmán took advantage of a loose ball in the box and sent it home for the 2-0 lead. In stoppage time, the Bravos made the scoreboard more decorative thanks to Ángel Zaldívar, who scored from the penalty spot at minute 99.
This weekend's match will not be easy for Guadalajara, who, despite being in a better moment than their rival, cannot let their arms down due to the quality that exists in Juárez's team.
Rojiblanco Notes...
- As in the previous tournament, Bravos are in a bad moment for the match against Chiverío, as they have not won in their last six Liga MX games.
- On the other hand, Chivas has won its last 3 AP24 matches.
