Chivas makes its debut on Amazon Prime with a drubbing of the Bravos!

31/08/2024 20:00 / Roberto García

What a spectacular debut for Guadalajara on their new home, Amazon Prime! The Rebaño Sagrado put on a performance of note and overwhelmed the Bravos de Juárez 5-0 this Saturday night at the Akron Stadium, in the sixth matchday of the Apertura 2024. With this result, Fernando Gago's team climbed to fourth place in the general table with 11 points and will now begin to prepare for the Mexican Classic, which will be played after the September FIFA Day.

The Chiverío's performance at the Akron was characterized by protagonism, efficiency and decisiveness, and from the very first play they showed their intentions to outdo their opponents. With the game settled in the first half, the Guadalajara side managed the tempo of the game with the ball, and could even have made the score even higher.

The goals
- HORMIGOOOL APPEARED! The first minute of play had not yet elapsed when the Fortaleza Rojiblanca erupted. After 50 seconds, Armando González took a cross in the six-yard box to send the ball into the back of the net.
- What a blast from the 'Nene'! At 26', 'Piojo' dragged marks and left Beltrán facing the goal, who, without thinking twice, shot a right-footed shot into the corner of Juarez's goal.
- Happy 100th, 'Piojo'! In his 100th game with Guadalajara, Roberto Alvarado was present on the scoreboard when he scored at 43' from a penalty kick that he himself provoked, with a strong shot to the goalkeeper's right.
- HerMozo goal! At 45+4', Alan Mozo showed why he is back in the Mexican National Team, after receiving a long ball from Cade Cowell inside the box with his hand, he cut back to his marker and crossed to score the fourth red and white goal of the afternoon.
- The score was closed at 92', when Yael Padilla took advantage of an Alvarado 'sombrerito' over the goalkeeper to simply send it into the net.

Dangerous moments
- The 'Hormiga' could have scored twice! At 3', Mozo crossed from the right from the final third looking for the 'palomita' of González, but Salcedo prevented him from connecting comfortably.
- Close to the fifth! A spectacular collective play by 'Nene' for Barajas, who crossed for the 'Hormiga' but ended up finding Alvarado, ended in a volley by 'Piojo' over the crossbar.
-At 72', Omar Govea tried to surprise on a set piece with a shot against the goalkeeper's post, who had to stretch as far as he could to clear the shot.
