The history of Chivas is full of memorable chapters and also of names that were fundamental in the building of the greatness of our institution, so today, on the 83rd anniversary of his birth, we remember with great affection Ignacio Sevilla, who was part of the very Champion of Guadalajara.
Sevilla was born on September 30, 1941 in Guadalajara, Jalisco. He was formed in the Rebaño's Basic Forces and made his debut in the 1960-1961 season, a campaign in which he established himself to the point of being an important part of the squad that marked a golden era in our soccer and cemented the greatness of our club by winning 4 League Championships (1960-61, 1961-62, 1963-64, 1964-65), 3 Champion of Champions and 1 Mexican Cup (1962-63),
He also participated in Chivas' first continental title, when they won the CONCACAF Champions Cup after defeating Comunicaciones of Guatemala in 1961.
Don 'Nacho' Sevilla passed away in La Perla Tapatía on November 15, 2016 at the age of 75 and we remember him as a man who was characterized by his dedication, commitment and love for the Chivas jersey. A hug to heaven, red and white legend.
