Club Deportivo Guadalajara informs that Óscar García Junyent will be the new coach of Chivas for the 2025 Clausura MX League and CONCACAF Champions Cup.

Who is Óscar García?
- He was born in Sabadell, Barcelona, on April 26, 1973. He is 51 years old, of which he dedicated more than 15 years to being a soccer player and currently has been a coach for 15 years.

- As a soccer player, he came from the youth academy of FC Barcelona, where he played as a midfielder and won several titles: the Spanish League, the King's Cup and the European Super Cup; he played in several teams in the Spanish League and left the courts in 2005.

What has been his trajectory as a coach?
- He started in 2009 on the bench of Barcelona Juvenil A, where he showed great skills as a strategist, so Johan Cruyff invited him that same year to be his assistant in the Catalan U18 National Team.

- In 2012 he took over as coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv, a team with which he won the Israeli League title. He then had a stint in England, where he managed Brighton and Watford.

- He arrived at the end of 2015 to Red Bull Salzburg of Austria, a club with which he achieved the double on 2 occasions by winning the League and the Cup of the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 Seasons; in addition, with the Austrians he disputed knockout stages of Champions League and Europa League.

- He also has experience in France, where he was in charge of Saint-Etienne and Stade de Reims. Other teams he coached include Olympiakos in Greece, Celta Vigo in Spain and OH Leuven in Belgium.

Oscar Garcia's track record as a manager
- 2 Austrian Leagues
- 2 Austrian Cups
- 1 Israeli League

What will Óscar Garcia bring to Chivas as DT?
- With the methodology and the model of play that he usually develops, the Spanish coach will look for the Rebaño Sagrado to be the protagonist of their matches through ball possession.

- As a footballer, he was formed in the cradle of the associative game, which is why he tries to have short associations in his teams, something that may suit Guadalajara due to the characteristics of its current roster.

- The DT knows how to work with teams that have a balance between experienced players and young players in development, which will keep the doors open for the talents of the Cantera Rojiblanca.

We are confident that Oscar Garcia's experience, preparation and group management will be key to Chivas' success next semester.

WELCOME TO THE RED AND WHITE NATION, OSCAR!!!!
