The Mexican National Team continues its steady pace in the Gold Cup, after advancing as group leader, defeating Saudi Arabia 2-0 and earning its ticket to the Gold Cup Semifinals.
It has become a habit for Roberto Alvarado to be a starter in Javier Aguirre's El Tri, which is why he started as an attacker on the right flank against the Asian team. The 'Piojo' played 85 minutes and left the following records:

- 57 touches of the ball
- 42 accurate passes (87%)
On the other hand, Raúl Rangel and Efraín Álvarez did not have minutes against Saudi Arabia.
