In order to enhance the development of all players in the Rojiblanca Youth Academy, the Sports Management team led by Javier Mier has made adjustments to the club's training structure. These changes have been strategically implemented to continue providing the best tools and knowledge to Chivas' future talents.
In addition to Tapatío, our affiliate in the Liga de Expansión MX, it is important to mention that starting in the 2025 Apertura, the Liga MX made an adjustment to the age limit for the lower categories, which means that starting this semester, we will have an Under-21 and Under-19 team.
Below, we present the new structure of the Institutional Football Department, as well as the integration of the different technical staff of the Rebaño Sagrado's youth categories that will participate in Liga MX.
The new structure of Chivas' youth teams
- Mariano Varela continues as Director of Institutional Football and will be in charge of all the Club's youth categories, from Under-21 to Under-10.
- Alejandro Castro is the new Sports Manager of Tapatío.
- Horacio Cervantes will be the Institutional Soccer Methodology Coordinator.
- Isaac Morales takes over as Youth Category Coordinator, which includes the Under-21 and Under-19 teams.
- Alberto Coyote will serve as Coordinator of Youth Categories, which includes the Under-17 and Under-15 teams that will participate in Liga MX, as well as the Under-16 and Under-14 teams, which will play in the Third and Fourth Divisions, respectively.
- Carlos Nápoles will be the Coordinator of Children's Categories, which includes the Under-13 to Under-10 teams.
