This Saturday, July 26, Chivas will play Matchday 3 of the 2025 Apertura, in what will be their first home game. It will also be a special date for the Rebaño, as they could extend a curious streak: in the last four Matchdays 3, Guadalajara has not lost. Here are the details of those matches.
On Matchday 3 of the 2023 Apertura, Chiverío beat Necaxa 2-0 at Akron Stadium. The goals were scored by Fernando Beltrán in the 23rd minute and Jesús Brígido, who sealed the victory in the 84th minute.
During Matchday 3 of the 2024 Clausura, the Rojiblancos tied 1-1 against Xolos in Tijuana. The team was down on the scoreboard after a goal by Carlos González, but Roberto "Piojo" Alvarado appeared in the 65th minute to tie the match.
For the 2024 Apertura, the Rebaño returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Gallos Blancos de Querétaro. The goals were scored by Cade Cowell in the 20th minute and Alan Mozo, who closed the scoring in the 90th minute.
Finally, on Matchday 3 of the 2025 Clausura, Chivas drew 1-1 against Tigres at home. The Rojiblancos' goal came in the 4th minute from Teun Wilke, in one of his first appearances as a starter. The equalizer for the Felinos was scored by Juan Brunetta.
It is worth noting that two of these four matches were played at Akron Stadium: the victory against Necaxa and the draw against Tigres.
This weekend, the Rebaño will return home for Matchday 3, making this match the ideal setting to extend their positive streak and earn their first three points of the tournament against Atlético de San Luis.
