This Saturday, Chivas Rayadas de Guadalajara and Bravos de Juárez will face off again in the match corresponding to week 5 of the 2025 Apertura. The last edition of this clash on Jalisco soil left us with an unforgettable episode in the memory of the Chivahermanos, and it was nothing less than the highest score in the history of the rivalry, in favor of Guadalajara, of course.
It happened on Saturday, August 31, in Week 6 of AP24 at the AKRON Stadium; the starting whistle blew in the Perla Tapatía, and the Rebaño would sign the most comfortable victory against the border team that night.
Just one minute into the game, Armando "Hormiga" González surprised everyone with an early goal. After a corner kick, there was a series of headers inside the area, until a header by Antonio Briseño caused a rebound that fell to "Hormi," who simply pushed the ball into the back of the net.
In the 26th minute, in a raid down the right wing, Roberto 'Piojo' Alvarado sent a precise pass to Fernando Beltrán, who, from the edge of the box, fired a powerful shot into the corner of the opponent's goal to make it 2-0 to the Rojiblancos.
In the 38th minute, a handball was called inside the border team's area. After a VAR review, 'Piojo' took charge of the penalty kick in the 43rd minute, further extending Chivas' lead to 3-0.
Six minutes later, a switch of play from Cade Cowell to the right found Alan Mozo, who skillfully entered the area, shook off the defenders with a series of dribbles, and with his left foot sent an unstoppable shot to make it 4-0.
In the 90th minute, Yael Padilla made his presence felt after a shot by Alvarado that ended up to the right of the goalkeeper. The youngster appeared to push it in and seal the victory with the fifth goal of the night.
Without a doubt, it was a night to remember at the Fortaleza Rojiblanca. This Saturday will be the perfect setting for our team to continue to assert their home advantage in front of their fans, as millions of Chivahermanos hope for another magical night like that one.
