The Mexican national team kicked off its September FIFA fixtures with its first warm-up match at Oakland Coliseum against Japan. The result was a goalless draw in a physically demanding game for the national team.
Among Javier Aguirre's starting 11, Roberto Alvarado stood out, playing as a right winger and looking to be an important option in Mexico's attack. 'Piojo' played 60 minutes of the match against Japan before being substituted for Hirving Lozano.
El Tri will play one more friendly match during this FIFA break, facing South Korea in Nashville, Tennessee, on Tuesday, September 9.
