They’re back! This weekend marked the return of competition for all Guadalajara academy categories in Matchday 1 of the Clausura 2026. We know the Nación Rojiblanca closely follows one of the club’s main pillars, so—as has become tradition—below we share all the details from the weekend’s performances and results of the Cantera Rojiblanca.
How did Chivas’ youth teams fare on Matchday 1 of the CL26?
Sub 15
The Rebaño’s Sub 15 side kicked off the football year on the right foot with a 3–0 win over Xolos de Tijuana in Matchday 1 of the CL26, in a match played at Gigantera. In a game dominated by the Rojiblancos, Marcelo Villarreal opened the scoring in the 13th minute, followed by Dilan Padilla extending the lead at 25’. Yovan Flores sealed the victory in the 87th minute to secure the first three points of the tournament.
Sub 17
Similarly, the Sub 17 team claimed a 2–1 home win against Xolos. Dylan Avelar put the Rebaño ahead in the 52nd minute and, although the visitors equalized shortly after, Joseph González appeared late in the match to restore the lead and lock in the first three points of the competition.
Sub 19 (Women)
Chivas’ Sub 19 Women’s team also faced Xolos at the Sports Arena fields, where the match ended in a 3–3 draw. For the Rojiblancas, Cynthia González scored a brace in the 6th and 12th minutes, while Fátima Lino added another in the 59th. In the penalty shootout, the visitors claimed the extra point.
Sub 19 (Men)
Meanwhile, Chivas’ Sub 19 Men’s team took on Pachuca in a match that finished in a 1–1 draw. The Rojiblanco goal was scored by Erick Aguilar in the 62nd minute. In the penalty shootout, the Rebaño earned the extra point with a 4–3 victory.
The Rojiblancos will need to quickly shift their focus to their next commitment, as tomorrow they will face the first match of this week’s double matchday, which will also mark their first away fixture of the tournament against Juárez.
Sub 21
The Sub 21 side also went up against the Tuzos and, despite the Chiverío’s effort, the team from Guadalajara fell 2–1 to the side from Hidalgo. Following this result, the Rebaño will look to get back on track early in the tournament, with the double matchday presenting an ideal opportunity to return to winning ways against the Bravos in what will be their first away match of the season.
