Moving forward with confidence: Chivas and the reward of believing in the process

19/01/2026 15:43 / Roberto García

At the start of the Clausura 2026, Chivas have carried over the momentum with which they finished last semester. The Rebaño Sagrado have not only confirmed themselves as a highly challenging opponent, but also show steady footballing growth week after week, with a style that blends movement, ball control, and a clearly offensive approach capable of hurting any rival.

Guadalajara’s perfect start to the semester cannot be explained solely by the three victories they have earned. Those results, which currently place them as the sole leaders of the standings, are the product of confidence and continuity in a sporting project that remained firm even during moments of greater pressure, always with the conviction of staying on the right path.

The Rebaño Sagrado have shown sustained growth after overcoming an uneven start to the Apertura 2025. As of today, they are the second club with the most wins in the regular phase of the 2025/26 season, with 12 victories—just one fewer than Toluca. They also sit fourth among the teams with the most accumulated points in the footballing year, with 38 out of a possible 60, six points behind the leader in that category.

Backing the project led by Gabriel Milito has translated into greater efficiency, collective solidity, and recognition from the footballing community. As proof of that, Guadalajara have matched one of their best tournament starts in recent years. The last time the club achieved three consecutive wins to open a competition was in the Apertura 2023 and the Clausura 2019.

After the pause in the domestic league due to Mexican National Team activity—a break that will allow the squad to fine-tune details and recharge—Chivas will have the chance to approach a milestone achieved 16 years ago: starting a tournament with four straight victories. In the Bicentenario 2010, Guadalajara set the record with eight consecutive wins to open a championship, a mark that still stands in the First Division.

We are all excited and hopeful about Milito’s Chivas, as this strong moment is also reflected in the call-up of eight Rojiblancos to El Tri in Javier Aguirre’s most recent squad list. Rest assured, Nación Rojiblanca, that this is also fueled by your unconditional support, which will be crucial in such an important semester—one in which we are certain Guadalajara will give us many more unforgettable moments.
