Sub 19

El Clásico de México Sub 19 was Rojiblanco! Guadalajara defeated América 2-1 at midday on the Gigantera pitch in a match they controlled from start to finish.

The Rebaño’s persistence paid off in the 78th minute, when Aldrin Mariaca scored a true golazo: he beat his marker down the right wing and fired a powerful diagonal strike that nestled inside the far post past the visiting goalkeeper to open the scoring. Minutes later, Erick Aguilar converted from the penalty spot to seal the Rojiblanco victory. The visitors pulled one back in the 91st minute through Alejandro Cárdenas.

With this result, the Sub 19 side temporarily moves into seventh place in the overall standings with 11 points.

Sub 21

El Rebaño drew 1-1 against their fiercest rival. The match became an uphill battle for the Rojiblancos after an early red card forced the team to double their efforts for much of the contest.

Far from sitting back, El Rebaño showed character and discipline to compete toe-to-toe with their opponent, even with a man down. The breakthrough came in the 71st minute, when Carlo Soldati netted a true golazo: he struck the ball on the volley and placed it into the far post, leaving the azulcrema goalkeeper with no chance and putting Chivas ahead. However, the visitors found the equalizer in the 84th minute, sending the match to a penalty shootout, where our side was unable to secure the extra point.

With this result, El Rebaño sits sixth overall with 11 points.
