Guadalajara’s U-19 and U-21 squads played their Matchday 16 fixtures this Wednesday against Necaxa, marking their final away games of the CL26 Regular Season. Both teams once again showed their ability to respond to adversity, earning valuable points as the tournament heads into its final stretch.

We know Chivahermanos closely follow the development of our young talents, so here’s everything you need to know about these matches.

U-21

Our Rojiblanco youngsters faced Necaxa in Aguascalientes, where they earned a 1-1 draw. From the opening minutes, Guadalajara showed a clear attacking intent, combined with defensive solidity. However, the match had several scrappy stretches, and both teams went into halftime scoreless.

Early in the second half, el Rebaño fell behind after the hosts opened the scoring. Despite this, Guadalajara kept pushing forward with the competitive DNA that defines la Cantera Rojiblanca. Their persistence paid off in the 72nd minute, when Hugo Mata scored a stunning long-range goal to level the match. Necaxa claimed the extra point in the penalty shootout.

With this result, el Chiverío secures an important point heading into the end of the Regular Season, moving into second place in the standings with 29 points.

U-19

Similarly, the U-19 side earned a 2-2 draw against Necaxa in Aguascalientes, in a match that started uphill for los Rojiblancos. The hosts capitalized on two defensive lapses to take the lead in the 8th and 15th minutes.

Guadalajara quickly responded, and in the 23rd minute, Leonardo Ramírez pulled one back to bring the team back into the game. Before halftime, el Rebaño kept pressing for the equalizer, but it didn’t come until the second half.

In the 61st minute, el Chiverío’s high press paid off. After winning the ball in midfield, a well-worked play ended with a precise cross into the box, where Kevin Ocejo rose to head home the equalizer at the far post. Guadalajara then secured the extra point in the penalty shootout.

With this result, el Rebaño moves into sixth place in the standings with 27 points, with one match still to be played.
