On July 26, 2009, Isaac Brizuela made his First Division debut during Matchday 1 of the Apertura 2009. Interestingly, his first appearance came against Guadalajara, while he was still representing Toluca. That afternoon, he started the match and played 68 minutes, taking the first of many steps in Mexico's top division.
Although he was wearing different colors at the time, destiny had something very special in store for him with Guadalajara.
Becoming a Rojiblanco Icon
Brizuela's arrival at Guadalajara for the Clausura 2015 marked the beginning of an unforgettable chapter. Thanks to his consistency, discipline and relentless commitment, he became a key member of the squad that filled El Rebaño Sagrado'strophy cabinet.
Wearing the Rojiblanca, he lifted the Apertura 2015 Copa MX, the 2015-16 Supercopa MX, the historic Clausura 2017 league and cup double, and the 2018 Concacaf Champions League title. He also enjoyed a distinguished international career with Mexico, winning the gold medal at the 2011 Pan American Games and representing his country at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
