What a great way to start Saturday, República Chiva! It's El Clásico de México day, and the Rojiblanca Academy has already made one thing clear: Guadalajara plays this rivalry at the highest level. This morning, the Rebaño Sagrado's U-21 and U-19 teams both came away with wins in their respective clashes against América, showing plenty of passion for the most beloved crest in the country.
Keep reading, Chivahermanos, because here are all the details from Chivas' youth teams in Matchday 9 of the Apertura 2026.
U-21
Don't let good habits die, Chivahermanos! After being crowned champions in the CL26 by defeating their fiercest rival at home and in front of their own fans, Chivas U-21 did it again, beating the Azulcremas 2-1 at Coapa. Luis Arce's team reached 15 points and tightened the race for fourth place in the standings.
Not even the early deficit could shake the Rojiblanco conviction. After the Mexico City side scored in the 8th minute, Guadalajara pushed forward relentlessly to turn the game around, eventually forcing América into two red cards within a span of just 3 minutes. The second sending-off led to the equalizing penalty, which Anwar Ben Rhouma converted in the 35th minute.
As expected, the fierce rivals dropped deeper to secure at least one point at home, but they hadn't counted on the Rebaño Sagrado's persistence. Near the end of the match, from a corner kick, Diego González rose inside the box and headed the ball across goal to seal the Tapatío victory.

U-19
2 out of 2 for the Rojiblanca Academy! After what the U-21 side accomplished, Alberto Ascencio's team followed suit, defeating the Águilas 1-0 to move into 7th place in the standings with 15 points.
In an extremely even match, it was Guadalajara who knew how to make the most of a set piece once again. From a cross into the heart of the box, Carlos Bernal rose between teammates and opponents to head the ball into the back of the Azulcrema net.
One goal wasn't enough for the Chiverío, who took advantage of their opponents' urgency in search of an equalizer to find space behind the defense, but the finishing touch eluded our players and prevented them from extending their lead.
