October 3 is a special day for the Rojiblanca Nation, as Héctor Reynoso is celebrating his 46th birthday. Born on October 3, 1980, in Mexico City, ‘Sansón’ began building his story in Guadalajara’s youth academy, the institution where he fulfilled his dream of becoming a professional soccer player and representing the team he loved.
His hard work paid off, as Reynoso made his First Team debut with Chivas in the 2001 Verano Tournament, in a match against Tigres at Estadio Universitario. From that moment on, he began a career that would span more than a decade and turn him into one of the most representative defenders in the history of the Rebaño Sagrado.
Over the years, the No. 4 established himself as one of Guadalajara’s great leaders. His character, commitment and dedication to the jersey earned him the captain’s armband and made him a role model for several generations of Chivahermanos.
A Rojiblanco Champion
One of the most important chapters in Reynoso’s career came in the Apertura 2006, when Guadalajara won the 11th championship in its history.
‘Sansón’ started both legs of that Final against Toluca and was part of the squad that lifted the trophy at Estadio Nemesio Diez on December 10, 2006.
A Protagonist in Unforgettable Nights
Héctor Reynoso’s story with Chivas was also marked by memorable performances on the international stage. The Rojiblanco defender played a key role in Guadalajara’s Copa Libertadores campaigns, a competition in which the Rebaño reached the Final in 2010.
However, if there is one moment that remains especially vivid in the memory of the Rojiblanca Nation, it is his performance in the 2005 Clausura edition of El Clásico de México.
In that match against América at Estadio Azteca, ‘Sansón’ got on the scoresheet with a spectacular long-range strike, one of the most memorable goals of his career, which helped Guadalajara earn a 3-3 draw.
A Captain Who Left His Mark
His career also took him to the Mexican National Team, with whom he made his debut in 2011 and won that year’s Concacaf Gold Cup.
Today, the Rojiblanca Nation celebrates the life of one of its great leaders and remembers everything Héctor Reynoso contributed to Guadalajara during an important chapter in the club’s history.
Happy birthday, Héctor Reynoso!
