13/10/2026 12:22 / Melissa Hernández

Guadalajara’s U-21 team has found a clinical finisher in Anwar Ben Rhouma, a forward with an excellent eye for goal. In his first tournament as a Rojiblanco, he has scored eight times for Luis Arce’s team, making him the category’s leading scorer so far.

His performances are no coincidence. They reflect his talent and the hard work he puts in every day, qualities that have stood out since his arrival at el Rebaño.

Anwar Has Made the Difference: Goals in Six Matches and Points for Chivas

Ben Rhouma’s contributions have been crucial to Guadalajara’s U-21 team. He has scored in six of the 10 matches he has played, and every time he finds the back of the net, el Rebaño earns points: four wins and two draws.

He has also recorded two braces in the Rojiblanco jersey. The most recent came this weekend in the Clásico Tapatío on Matchday 11, when his two goals sealed a 2-0 victory over the club’s fiercest local rival.

Another example came in the 2-2 draw against Pachuca on Matchday 6. Thanks to his brace, Guadalajara earned a point in a match in which the forward once again proved decisive.

He also made his mark in the Clásico de México on Matchday 9. Ben Rhouma scored the equalizer when Chivas were trailing, setting the stage for the Rojiblancos’ comeback.

He was decisive once again against Santos on Matchday 4. The forward scored the only goal of the match to secure all three points for Guadalajara.

First Call-Up to Chivas’ First Team: Another Step Forward in His Development

Anwar’s consistency is beginning to pay off beyond the U-21 level. His performances have established him as one of the most promising Mexican forwards in the Rojiblanco youth system.

His strong form caught the attention of the coaching staff led by Gabriel Milito, who included him in Chivas’ most recent trip to Oakland, where the team faced América during the Tour Rebaño 2026. On that occasion, Ben Rhouma received his first call-up to Guadalajara’s first team.

Anwar Also Knows What It Means to Play for Tapatío

His impressive performances also opened the door to Tapatío, the flagship team of the Cantera Rojiblanca. Ben Rhouma made his debut against Venados on Matchday 3 of Liga de Expansión. He started the match and played 55 minutes under José Meléndez.

Eight Goals and One Goal: Finish the Apertura 2026 Strong

Anwar has logged 889 minutes in the Apertura 2026 tournament and scored eight goals, averaging one goal every 111 minutes. These numbers keep him at the top of the category’s scoring charts.

As the tournament enters its final stretch, Ben Rhouma has the opportunity to increase his goal tally and continue contributing to Guadalajara. His finishing ability will be key to helping the U-21 team earn points, challenge for the top spots in the standings heading into the end of the regular season, and build momentum for the Liguilla.
