Chivas Defeat Forge FC in Canada

Hamilton, Ontario.- Guadalajara got off on the right foot in the CONCACAF Champions Cup 2024 on Wednesday night at Tim Hortons Field, defeating Forge FC 3-1 in the first leg of the first round of the continental competition. Special mention must go to the Red and White Nation, who made their presence felt tonight with a large majority in the stands of the stadium.

The goals

- The Rebaño opened the scoring at 25' when 'Oso' González put a pass between the lines that left Cade Cowell alone in front of the goal, who with a cross-shot sent the ball into the net!

- The home side responded at the 31st minute, when Campbell appeared in the six-yard box to push Borges' cross from the left into the net.

- Chivas regained the lead just before halftime, when, in the added time, Cowell put in a cross, as if by hand, for Ricardo Marín to send the ball into the net with a header.
- Chivas widened their lead at 62', after 'Oso' played 'Chapo' down the flank and he filtered the ball to Cowell, who scored his brace with a cross-shot.

- At minute 35, 'Lalo' Torres shot from the edge of the area, but it went into the goalkeeper's hands.

- At 37', Kalongo saved a low shot by Ricardo Marín with his fingernails, which was looking for the base of the left post.
